I have to admit shock when I read that People actually feel that Affirmative Action gives away jobs and educations to Minorities.Where are you getting your information from? Obviuosly you have not studied the intent of Affirmative Action in this country. It is to provided and equal playing field for women, minorities, veterans and anyone who finds themselves to be a minority situation. If you read the laws established by our great forefathers in the Constitution you will realize that the white male has always been a protected class, with all the priviledges that are just recently being recognized for everyone else. Even women have had to fight for their rights no matter what the their ethnic origin . Affirmative action is about the hiring, promotion, acceptance into school etc., of the most qualified individual. QUALIFIED being the key here. So before you start commenting on a subject I would suggest that you study the laws and have all the correct information. You may need to use Affirmative Action here in the near future as we go into the year 2000 and caucasions become the minorities in the job arena.Check out all the labor studies that are being done!!!!!
