You know, I couldn't agree more. That's why I'm so active at what I do, regardless of the death threats (from a few overzealous Sandanista "friends") or the abuse, or the ostracization (try being openly pro-capitalist and pro-U.S. in college. I dare ya. I double dare ya.)
I don't have to be disruptive (although this doesn't stop me being banned from open socialist recruitment rallies, or harrassed at public presentations by Leftist leaders, and so on). One merely has to ask a few pointed questions, drop a few pertinent facts in, and the whole rotten crusade is exposed for what it actually is - a naked power-play, no more concerned with the poor or the "struggling workers" than any other sort of con-game. One of my favorites is to bring to the meeting an actual member of the class these people purport to champion, and watch them treat the fellow like dirt. I usually follow this up with a discussion as to why college socialists are such jerks. Most effective.
What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Here's looking at you, kid.
The Evil One
P.S. Be careful trying this at home, folks. Die-hard Marxists are NOT nice people. You'd better be ready for some seriously nasty tricks. You've been warned.
