: SDF: Yo Lark! This thing about religion: why believe in something that just isn't really there? Why? Until you can answer me that, Lark, you'll just appear to me as someone struggling to make sense of the world.
Shucks SDF I never knew you cared, when did you post this, I must have missed it, in what context are you talking? In reply to what post?
: Garloo:: A world which you, in your infinite wisdom, have figured out to the letter, huh?. I fail to see how Lark's faith in religion, or lack thereof, is germane to a discussion about history and I don't care either. What I do know is that there is more courage and conviction in his words, by orders of magnitude, than in your silly, lackluster posts.
Wow!! Thanks for the pretty damn major complements mate, I really, really dont deserve them, I'm a two cents student who's moderately well read, I know about as much as everyone else here, infact, I've learnt a lot from everyone here SDF included and you aswell I might add.
SDF's had some good posts I really, really liked his anti-triumphalist religion/politics posts, he's a fellow Paulo Feire-ist and Socialism from below eco-hippy, I dont think he meant any harm.
:Maybe he gets it from faith in "something that isn't really there." -I don't know.
I'd say I actually do man, my religion and my politics are melded after a really motoley fashion.
: Additionally, where you get off telling someone from Northern Ireland that faith amounts to little more than an adolescent "struggling to make sense of the world" is beyond me. But then again, lots of things are,
: and I'm left wondering if you have equal contempt for Deep Ecologists
: for whom nature is very much a religion.
I think he would, I wouldnt wish to raise the religion and NI history or context issues though.
Guys cant we all be Friends? Well not Stroller but everyone else roast marshmallows and sing ballads.
