There's certainly nothing opposing capitalist practice in either subculture. The "New Age" appears to me to be a commodity sold by Marin County hucksters, and my leftist friends think of "postmodernism" as a theory defending corporate marketing strategies, as in "Pepsi ads have a postmodern narrative construction..."
