hybrid of capitalism and communism

I have been assigned a project on capitalism vs. communism, and I feel that it is a dead end topic as the society always suffers under both a capitalist or communist government. In my opinion, a hybrid of positive aspects from both styles of government would be the most beneficial route to take. I came upon an internet site with writings by a man named Joseph Jay Schiller who seems to agree with me. He suggested, in general to use communism as the general model for the agrarian sector and capitalism in industry. The problem I'm encountering is that I'm coming across too much information for both styles of government and Im having trouble finding the information I need concerning these issues. I was wondering if anyone would be of any help aiding me in finding this information, because I've found myself -completely- lost. I'd appreciate it a lot, and feel free to e-mail me : )
