SDF: I like the Utopia 2000 idea, if only for its connection to what these people are doing... the commune stands out by its attempt to contradict the petroleum input that conditions most behavior under late capitalism. Imagine that, a bunch of people trying to live together despite apartment buildings, and what's more they're trying to produce their own food despite that modern invention, the supermarket chain...

Meanwhile, the world for me bristles with excess contingencies and probabilities. If I wanted to start my own commune, I'd have to earn money like a petit-bourgeois, and by the time I start doing that, who knows what the world will look like?
