: It depends where the McDonalds is, In western Canada we use beef shortening (formula 47) for fries and veggie shortening (formula 189) for fish and chicken products but in the staes I think they use mostly veggie shortening for everything... ask at your McD what kind of shortening it is

what's the difference what kind of shortening they use. McDonald's is a company that doesn't deserve to exist on a planet occupied by people who believe in animal rights. Therefore, your eating there, be it veggie or beef shortening in the fries only prolongs their existence.
