: First of all, I should say that *all* fast food joints have specs like that, and for the most part they're followed pretty damn closely at all of them. Second of all, "the best" fast food restaurant in the world? All the others (BK, Wendys, Arbys, Taco Bell) have undeniably better food, therefore, they are not the best, just the most profitable. Their success lies in marketing, not food, marketing generally aimed at kids who then harrass their parents into taking them. They turn kids into consumers before they can pronounce 'consumer'.

Well Al, all fast food companies cater to children. In your opinion all the other fast food outlets have better food. I've worked in the restaurant business a long time, sure marketing helps pull people one way or the other and so do children, but if the food wasn't good quality, the service bad or the resaurant not clean people woudn't keep coming back. And in my opinion Mcd's is the best. I'm sure you've must had a bad experience more than a few times at Mcd's and that is unfourtunate, but the quality, service and cleanliness vary from restaurant to restaurant. It shouldn't, but it does. This is also true for BK, Wendys, Arbys etc. With regards to the specs issue, I'm not trying to say that no other restaurants have quality guidelines, because I know they all do, my point was that it,s not a "stupid test" as "Gill" would have us all think. These are used as a reference guide to look to.
