Day 249 - 14 May 96 - Page 26

Q. I mean people going home from work probably got them?
A. Yes. There are a couple of car parks as well, huge
ones, and you get a lot of vehicle and traffic coming out
of that exit.

Q. I did not mean terminating, of course, and it was a
perfectly normal day?
A. Yes.

Q. What about 1988?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let us have the 5-minute break if you are
going to the next date.

(Short adjournment)

MS. STEEL: If you could just tell us about your recollection
of the 1988 protest?
A. I only paid a couple of visits. It was Terry Carroll
in charge, a couple of his staff might have...

Q. You only paid a couple of visits?
A. I only paid a couple of visits to that one.

Q. So you were in charge of the 1987 one?
A. Yes.

Q. So, can you tell us what you saw when you made these couple
of visits?
A. Yes. There were a number of people with placards.

Q. How many?
A. At least five, 6, with placards.

Q. How many people?
A. I think we put a final total of about 20.

Q. So it was bigger than the previous year?
A. Yes, some were giving out leaflets.

Q. Which leaflets?
A. The one complained of.

Q. You are sure about that?
A. Yes.

Q. What else happened, if anything?
A. I am sure the juggler was there again. Whether it was
the same juggler or not I am not sure, but there was
someone there dressed up, and there was some kind of
pantomime going on, or entertainment, street entertainment.

Q. These protests do not all get confused in your mind and
kind of merge into one another?
A. I only attended four.

Q. You?
A. And I hardly attended the fourth one.
