: According to a nationwide health board which is neither vegetarian or meat eater vegetarians consume 2.3oz of meat!!!! yup , un huh you guessed it you are still getting some of the nutrients from meat in your system which could be why you are still so healthy!!!!

Please explain how vegetarians are getting nutrients from meat if they aren't consuming any.

>if we fed everyone vegetables we would overuse the land in so much >less time... annimals eat plants the whole world eats plants???? i >mean what the hell????

You really need to get your facts straight. Natural resources would be better used if they weren't wasted on meat production, not to mention that the production of meat is a prime source of pollution in the U.S. In order to keep the price of meat from being prohibitively expensive, the meat industry receives huge subsidaries from the government to support their wasteful practices, which some have correctly labelled to as "welfare for the rich."

Far be it from me to preach to anyone what to eat and what not to eat, but the facts are the facts. Don't take my word for it; there are plenty of resources out there that will help you to discover for yourself the facts about the meat industry and/or the nutritional benefits of a vegetarian diet over a meat-cenetered one. You can then come to your own conclusions, if you don't already have a closed mind, that is. It is obvious that vegetarianism puts a lot of meat eaters on the defensive to the point where they have to spew a lot of nonsense in order to justify their eating habits. Be honest and just admit that you eat meat because you were raised that way, you don't see the need for change and that you like it. There's no need to make up bogus facts to support your position.
