You said about ten cents a meal that is wrong. At the McDonalds where I work at and many others McDonalds. Total labor cost is 28%+-, food and paper is 29% +-, utilities are 7-8%+-, that is about 65% of every dollar and does not include, advertising, maintenance, the money that goes back into the store (royalties if it is a franchise), plus other expenses. Think about stealing again. Even though on the some food items it is cheap other are very high.
