: : I think physicists have actually accounted for this missing day. It happened.

: You're not serious!

I am you know, I could hunt out the article and post it if you want, however does it further the "Case for Christianity" not really in my opinion, Miracles happen to Catholics all the time and a lot of them still walk around unconvinced.

: If 'he' exists outside time (as we know it) 'he' also exists outside of space, so why a BIG being? That's what churches teach to scare you 'big and scary male god'. Why not small and even female???

Oh a small and female God, just my type (I can feel my dention in Purgatory rising as I type). Well historically the use of the Virgin Mary in Catholic Lore was to counter that employed by pagans EG the ancient celts worshiped female gods, nature I think was female.

: And they were probably on drugs which is well documented in human knowledge of history, but they didn't call them drugs back then

Well they where partial to a lot of drink, there's something you better not mention to the pious followers of Mammon worshiping Babylon, I mean Jesus turned the water to wine, strong, mature wine and the apostles where "heavy with sleep" at the Garden before Jesus' arrest EG pisses as farts.

However Jesus turned down drugs before he was flogged and crucified. They offered him a morphine derivative mixed with wine.

: Neither do I.

Maybe Stu or someone could tell us.

: What? It's a constant battle of science against god and each discovery has caused a modification of religious doctrine - you can check that with history books.

I dont think so, I know that religion has been reluctant to acknowledge that science has any kind of a role to play but I dont see them as opponents.

:So that evolution is so undisputed that neo-religious types are modifying their doctrine to include it.

Well I'm not really modifying my doctrine, it's always been that way.

:And even with God, why would 'he' intervene in evolution if he created it? Not only earth is evolving either everything we've discovered is, as far as we can see into space it's evolving.

I mean the evolutionary process is intensional, not a chaotic mistake like some scientists would insist, evolution was created by God.

: : Good question, if someones wrong I point it out.

: I don't claim god why should they or you. We should keep our feet on the ground and worry about that.

Well I like God, I like the whole vision etc. I also believe other things though and my personal version of Christianity (while I'm officially a practising Catholic) is a version of Celtic beliefs where the type of delusional otherness your talking about is a complete foreign body, the spirit world runs paralell to this one and at points and times they meet. Terrible wars in this world between good and evil are reflections of wars in the spirit world.

Right I'll stop before everyone runs away laughing or screaming.

:I don't believe in this god, no way, why should I? I believe in life, love, the sun and the earth which I can feel; why complicate that with delusions and force them on others!

Well, you dont have to believe in God because he obviously believes in you since he has blessed you with a great awareness of social, political and ecological issues.

God's not a delusion but the traditional patriarchal God of meaness that justifies evil Capitalism and hierarchy is a delusion. As for forcing them on others I dont think that's what any God wants.
