Explain me sumpin'

Folks keep on tellin' me that this whole neoliberalism thingy is the bestest. Now, maybe I'm just a lil slow, but I don't gat it. See, it's like this. Since Washington's been talking about, and DC's media lapdogs faithful echoing, this "great" economy the US has, it seems that there are actually more children in poverty than in 1990! Strange but true.

Now, here's the part I don't get. If the "economy" is doin' so good, than why aren't more people doin' good? Seems like common enough sense to me. The rich are doin' great, from what I read in the corporate media, and they're trying to get a nice tax scheme passed so they can do even better. Surprising, isn't it?

I guess what I'm a-talkin' 'bout is social policy. The US is a rich country, and there's not really any need for children to go hungry. But, as a nation (ahem,) we've decided that starvin' kids ain't so bad, really, as long as the rich get richer and grab more control of the media and the gov't. Yep, what's a few sick kids, really, in the great scheme of the money things.

To the poor I say: Hungry? Eat the rich.
