: We also have to remember that if a company called TRICON GLOBAL RETURANTS (which is pepsi co company) owns pizzahut, kfc and tacobell, what does coke own(you can not buy pepsi from mcdonalds)
: nore can you buy coke from kfc!)

First, Tricon Global Restaurants was spun off from Pepsico (probably for the tax write-off), and is now completely autonomous from Pepsico.

When Taco Bell was founded in Downey, California, USA, by Glen Bell in teh early 1960's, one could buy Coca-Cola there. By the mid 1960's, Bell wanted to expand, and Coca-Cola was seriously considering entering the restaurant business. But when Bell proposed that Coca-Cola invest in his business or buy it outright, Coca-Cola wouldn't hear of it, saying his bastardized version of Mexican food wouldn't succeed, or even be in business five years later. Feeling slighted, Bell removed Coca-Cola products from his restaurants, brought in Pepsi, and want at it alone. Pepsico acquired Taco Bell in 1977, along with Pizza Slut and Kentucky Fried Shittin' in the mid 1980's, and a few smaller chains along the way. The restaurant business was spun off and formed Tricon a few years ago. Pepsi is still served in these places mostly because customers seem to expect it.

Coca-Cola never entered the restaurant business. They once owned a movie studio and record label, but those are now gone, and Coca-Cola's only businesses are beverages and Minute Maid brand juice drinks and food products. When you encounter a restaurant that serves Coca-Cola, you can be assured that it is not owned by Coca-Cola.

Burp,

Hugh Morris
