  Q. When did they stop?
       A. Last year.

  Q. Last year. How long had they been supplying?
       A. Just a moment -- they stopped killing last year. They
still have a boning room there and they still take some
boneless flanks from them. Blisworth, not Wellingborough,
       ADP Blisworth.

  Q. Is it a different company or is it ---
       A. No, it is the same place ---

  Q. -- the head office?
       A. -- but I am sure you mean Blisworth.

  Q. How long had they been supplying you?
       A. Five or six years.

  Q. They were using the captive bolt pistol?
       A. Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can you just help me if you know through your
farming background when it became illegal, if such it did,
in this country for a farmer to kill his own stock apart
       from slaughter for food?
       A. He can still kill his own stock, sir, for medical
       reasons.

  Q. I understand that but ----
       A. I know -- I could not tell you when it became for human
consumption, for public consumption. I think he can still
kill for his own consumption. No, I cannot give you that
       date, sir.

  Q. Do you know even whether that is so? You think he can
still kill for his own consumption?
       A. I think he can, sir.

  Q. Not a chicken every now and again?
       A. I am not sure on that, sir.

  Q. But a steer or -----
       A. I do not think any farmer anyway would try to kill a
       steer for his own consumption.

MS. STEEL: The companies that supply you with pigs, is one of
those FMC of Winbourne or Salisbury?
       A. No.

  Q. It is not? Can I have a couple of minutes?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. We will keep going this afternoon but
if you need a moment just sit down and prepare yourself.
I will not actually leave court.

MR. MORRIS: The volume of the Scunthorpe plant as compared to
the McKey's Milton Keynes plant in terms of beef and
patties -- is it comparable or is the Milton Keyne's plant
       the biggest?
       A. The Milton Keynes plant is the biggest.
