Day 145 - 29 Jun 95 - Page 26

topic altogether, I really think you have put as much as
you legitimately can and we will have see what comes in the
       future.

MR. MORRIS: We will try to plead -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That is another matter. You are only too
well aware that we must get through Mr. Stein. I am going
to release him tomorrow afternoon. I hope we did not go
anywhere near as far as that and I am keen to get through
the remainder of his evidence with as much expedition as we
       can.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, with those words in mind, I wonder
whether -- only because Mr. Stein has to sort his travel
arrangements -- if it is certain he is not going to finish
today, then he would like to be told when he should.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What do you think between you and Ms. Steel?

MR. RAMPTON: The point being, my Lord, he could get an
aeroplane tonight or if not he could get one tomorrow --
that is all -- but it has to be sorted.

MS. STEEL: I was actually trying to go through all my notes to
check which ones I needed to ask. I have not finished
doing that yet. I think we almost certainly will be
finished this afternoon but I do not know whether I would
want to guarantee that 100 per cent.

MR. RAMPTON: No, that is very helpful, my Lord, because it
means that he should not cancel his flight tonight. He has
two booked provisionally; one tonight, one tomorrow.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: We cannot eliminate the risk.

MR. RAMPTON: No, but that is a risk he must take. My Lord,
there was one other thing. I was optimistic that I might
be given a list of the Defendants' interlocutory topics
when I arrived at court this morning. It has not emerged.
I am getting a little bit concerned about it; maybe it is
here and they just forgot to give it to us.

MR. MORRIS: A list has been done, combining the two that we
have both done previously. I have not actually checked the
final version, so I will check that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will come back at five past 2. I would
like you to spend five or 10 minutes just looking at that.

  MR. MORRIS: Yes.

                       (Luncheon Adjournment)

MR. RAMPTON: The list of interlocutory topics, I hope?

MS. STEEL: If I get a chance to speak.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: How are we doing?
