Your post made me nostalgic, I used to say 'when this, when that..'

: You were neglecting consumption by capitalists.

Then the wealth stays ever the same. Getting more resources changing the shape of those resources to be ever more useful ever more valuable, thats whats making them all richer - thats how 'they' get away with getting richer all the time, coz the cake gets bigger - thats how folk pay more taxes and still get richer, coz their shopping basket gets better everytime. Thanks to the brains, shame on the % snatchers up on wall street (them that are the baddies, y'know whatever I used to believe - business doenst equal evil, evil = evil), and the snatchers up on capitol hill and downing street, in Berlin, In Paris and every other capital city.

: 1:Socialism must be voluntary, we can't force it on them.

So you never have to worry about its implementation - jeez I used to argue with my red buddies - dont use force i said, bullshit pipe dreams they said - and they were right, thats when I started turned ex-red,

Ever hang out in socialist clubs and groups? Listen to what theyre really saying - its power.

: 2:It must be worldwide, because: a)the rest of teh capitalist world would try to crush it. b)We are all part of one big, world-wide economic system, socialism in one country leads to impoverishment. teh two systems cannot co-exist.

A majority of the human population should be able to do it, but your conceding - capitalist countries can crush it? Because theyre up on the technology and wealth.

Remember the joke by the Russian ambassador - he said theyd leave one country free, otherwise they wouldnt know what anything was worth, or anyone to copy.

: :Ive done this before, just criticized the west behind the safety of the 'cuba aint socialist' and 'humanity is not ready for it' bull.

: Humanity is ready for it, they just have to want to do it, feel teh need for it.

Until then, until then.... its an endless road Red Deathy.

: : More over all the socialists who like debating seem to imagine (openly or implicitly) theyll be in charge, or at least highly influential in a socialist society. Thats why they dont run off to cuba - because they'll just end up chopping logs or something - and not doing what they want.

: Most capitalist apologists assume taht they will be in charge, teh entreprenuers, etc. I always assume I'll be working with my friends,, I don't want to be in charge, that would suck.

Sorry Red, the poeple have decided you have to go salt mining with abunch of strangers -what will you do?

: But that wouldn't happen because socialism is based on freedom of work and association, no one would be forced to do anything.

I can see a lot shit shoveling left undone - too much like hard work. Humans naturally conserve energy except when motivated to expend it.

So those who decide to do nothing, or as near as damn it - do they get to raid the village stockpile just the same?

: : Ofcourse you could try and appeal, compete for votes, charm, lie, blackmail and bribe - or did you think socialism wont attract the machievelan charmers and power seekers?

: Well, there wouldn't be any positions of power, and all officials would be immediately removeable.

Who by? What if those leaders get a nice mob behind them. Its strongest rules, and I remember some socialists, in safety of a private room (ha!) saying how they'll need power, just for awhile...

: Because its a tin-pot state capitalist state.

Their all tin-pot states, some have got shiner tin and some smoke more pot.
