Everyone's a socialist for themselves but recommends market discipline for everyone else. Who doesn't like juicy government contracts for $5000 toilets, bombers that don't work in the rain, or other assorted items that cause mass death and destruction? Why not have a large agency like the IMF prevent bond holders from ever losing their investments? How about a tax code that subsidizes the rich at the expense of everybody else?No socialism works just fine, but for the wrong people. The middle class, the working class, the poor, etc. all must accept market discipline and fiscal responsibility while the rich live n the lap of luxury provided by teh welfare state, welfare for the rich that is.
