They aren't wrong, their suppliers are.

They don't promote ruining the rainforests. They don't actively destroy rain forests. They aren't wrong, their suppliers are. All supliers are like that. Anything else?

McSpotlight: McDonald's are fully aware of what their suppliers do; witness the fact that they took a libel suit out to stop the broadcasting of Peter Heller's TV documentary "Jungleburger" made in 1989 for Channel 4.

To continue with the same suppliers despite the actions of those suppliers (whether deforestation or cruelty to animals) makes McDonald's complicit in those actions and thus culpably responsible for them; as the McLibel judgement found.
